Activities for the students of Spanish courses – From 27th January to 2nd February

Denia is home to a wealth of opportunities and positive experiences that will make any stay an unforgettable one. At TLCdénia languages are practiced both inside and outside the classroom as Spanish and foreign students participate in activities together, helping to forge an international atmosphere.

WATER SPORTS ACTIVITIES

At the school we make use of the wide range of water sports available in the area by offering sailing, paddle surf, canoeing and kayaking activities.

BEACH VOLLEYBALL, EXCURSIONS AND EATING OUT

Denia is located at the based of the Montgó mountain. This area is home to many walks and trekking routes of varying degrees of difficult and open to all. For those who feel more at home in the town, why not visit other places of interest such as the archaeological museum or the Dénia castle.

Dénia’s good weather and 16kms of beaches are prefect for playing volleyball and having a drink at the beach bar.

A fantastic way to see the sights and our beautiful coastline is by taking a spectacular boat trip to one of the various ports dotted along the coast, such as to Javea, Calpe, etc. We also organize trips to Valencia.

In order to welcome our students to Dénia we arrange an outing to traditional tapas bar, so that they have the chance to try the local cuisine. Also, on the first day of class we invite students to taste one of the region’s traditional cakes, “Coca María”.

The town is home to the chocolate shop café, Valor, which sells delicious “chocolate con churros”.

What is better than to have a glass of sangria with your fellow students in order to practice your Spanish? TLCdénia gives you that opportunity.

VISITS TO LOCAL MUSEUMS, THE MARKET AND WORKSHOPS

We take our students to visit the Ethnological Museum and the Toy Museum in Dénia so that they can learn a little bit more about the local history and traditions.

Fridays see traders set up their stalls with fruit and vegetables in front of the indoor market hall and on Mondays, Dénia hosts a clothing and home ware market. Students are given the opportunity to go there with a teacher in order to learn new vocabulary and practice what they have learnt in class.

The school organises various workshops such as ones about films and music. Here students have the opportunity to learn about Spanish music or films via a brief tour of the musical or cinematic history of the past 20 years.

In the month of August residents and holidaymakers alike can attend the outdoor cinema located on Marineta Cassiana beach. Highly reccomended as the experience is a great learning curve.

FAIRS, TRIPS AND DANCING

During the months of October and November Dénia is home to the All Saints Fair, where students can have fun and the traditional delicacies “Churros” and “Porras”.

The school proudly offers its students the opportunity to experience salsa dancing firsthand. Whether students know how to dance or do it for the first time, everyone is welcome to join our classes and salsa sessions.

Do you want to visit Valencia? The school regularly organises bus trips to visit this wonderful city, which include a tour of its historical part and of the City of Art and Science.

As a port town Dénia provides all with the opportunity to visit the beautiful island of Ibiza. With a journey time of between 2 and 4 hours, it’s well worth making the effort to see.
